Walter Iooss

I found Walter on google.

Walter Iooss is now 71, he stopped shooting in 2010. He is most famous for his work this Michael Jordan, Kelly Slater, Tiger Woods, Scottie Pippen, and Muhammad Ali. He shoot for Sports Illustrated also on their swimsuit issue.

Photographic Category 

This photo is a denotation of a portrait of a young boy, this a  spots photo as it taking  picture of a Muay Thai fight in Thailand.

Purpose

The purpose of this picture is would be used for a magazine out, this is also used for personal uses.

Image Analysis

The fight seems to be to one side but the boy on the right is central this is to focus on him, also the they space is left on the right allows for us to see the crowd which are draw to the boys which allows a point of focus, this is because of the rule of Third.

The lighting seems been made by a flash from the front of the boys, in my opinion this is good because it is in black and white photo.

The picture  if fully focused, this is  good because we can see almost everything going on in this picture except where the flash hasn't taken from.

This photo might of been cropped to left to make the audience of this photograph focus on the boy on the right.

This purpose because it would fit into a magazine and for personal use it matches up because it is good photograph.

This photo would of been took with a fast shutter speed e.g 800/1 - 1600/1 this is to capture the moment of the picture, then lens what will have been would be 35-55 mm. The ISO would be high with a low aperture to compensate for the fast shutter speed.

Meaning

The meaning of the photograph is connoting the Art of boxing, this photo also represents the brutality and survival of living in poverty, also the emotion denoted of then bow on the right connotes the fight with in as he is shouting has he hit the other boy showing his inner worrier.

Purpose

The purpose of this photo is for personal use however this photo is timeless so it cloud be used in and advert or magazine. 

Image Analsis 

The photograph is of the two people is clever as as the have leading line of the lamp post to the wall with the man and woman. Also the go from the ground bottom to the top.

The the is no light from behind the camera however they is light coming from behind the two people to the right The picture is well focused but is a bit blurred towards the left of the man however, I think this is because this is a really old photo.

I think this picture has been cropped so the man and women are central in the picture to create a balenced photograph.

I think this fits the purpose because it's telling a story which can be used for personal use.

As it is night Brassaï would of took this photo which a large aperture of ƒ5 an ISO of 400 as this is set in low-key lighting.

The shuter speed would have been at 80 as the picture has movement in it with the light 

The Meaning

I can denote an man wearing a hat and women meeting in the street under. I can connote that the man dosn't want his face too be shown therefore i think this photo is displaying a late night love affair between the man and women.

Ansel was a landscape photographer, took his photos in black and white. He took his picture mainly in Yosemite National Park.

Purpose

The purpose of these photo are for personal use however they have widely been used for calendars, education, magazine, location scout, promotional advert, books and poster.

Image Analysis

The Photo has been cleverly composed because they river leeds you to the mount this is good because it gives depth to photo, this also make the mountain the subject of the photo this is because Adams has used Rule of Third.

Because this is a landscape photograph the light will be natural but the light seems to be enchased along the river this is too lead you to the subject of the picture which is the mountain, this is good as it makes the photo easy on the eyes.

This Picture would of not been cropped because it is trying to show what is been going on with this wide angle shot.

This fits purpose because it is so well composed the photo also is interesting and its very applicable to other purpose because it's such a wide genre.

This picture would of changes to the lighting, as it is a dark day Adams would of had a large aperture ƒ5 and iso of 400. I also thing that he would of had shutter speed of 1/125  as we the water is still and so is the sky. 

Meaning

I can denote a storm above the mountain with a road leading to it this connotes that it a road to evil.  This is because of the storm above the mountain.

The Purpose

These photos are taken to promote brands and celebrities, these will go in magazine also can be used for.

Image Analysis

The photo has the model (LaBron James- Basketball Player) has been placed just to the right hand side of the picture this makes the picture interesting.

The lighting of the photo is coming from the right what has been intense, this creates a shadow which creates depth to the photo also the model is wearing a black however there light makes the picture look light.

This Picture has the has been cropped to just get the models upper body and been cut the right this is too make the picture look good.

This fits the purpose cause it could easily bee added to a magazine or used to promote the celebrity.

Today Photographer David Chang came into college this is what I learnt:

1. How Appiture works by making the lense smaller or bigger.
2. To always be one step ahead.
3. To try to capture a moment than create it.
4. Think about how it will be edited.
5. Faster Shutter speed it will be still and slower lets movement.
6. Using a falsh on a reflective serfice to stop refeltion.
7. Plan Ahead of a shoot.
8. Always be active.
9. Crop if the focus is taken away.
